Ken Steadman, CMSgt (Ret.) founded Hits On Target to provide concealed carry and firearms
training in 2008. In 2018, he retired from active military service
concluding 30 years’ experience in Law Enforcement and Security. Being committed to continuous professional development, he has pursued
(and continues to pursue) training outside military channels.
His instructor certificates include NRA Law Enforcement Pistol/ Shotgun/
Patrol Rifle Instructor; IALEFI Master Instructor, NTOA Police Response
to Active Shooter Instructor, Strategos International’s Strategies of
Low Light Engagements Instructor, Deliberate Coaching
with Brian Hill, Tim Herron’s Instructor Diagnostics and Development,
Cougar Mountain Solutions Pistol Mounted Optics Instructor, Agile
Training & Consulting OC Instructor, Tactical Anatomy ™ Instructor,
Rangemaster™ Defensive Shotgun and Master/Profession
Pistolcraft Instructor.
As a lifelong student, Ken recognizes that regarding techniques and
hardware, not all things new are desirable and many old things are not
obsolete. With that said, the process of how humans “learn” has seldom
been considered in how firearms training is presented.
Adaptive methods are necessary to avoid ineffective use of training
time and resources. The commitment to those methods is the essence of "Train Smarter."
